So remember at the beginning of quarantine where everyone had nothing to do, so they started new hobbies? I started exercising more because I’ve decided that I wanted to be more active. I try my best to exercise every other day, but sometimes life gets in the way. Because of quarantine, I love doing at-home exercise videos on youtube. Here are a few of my favorites. Please know that I am not an expert whatsoever and that some of these suggestions may or may not work for you.
1. HIIT Workout
HIIT Workout AKA High-Intensity Interval Training. As you can tell by the name, these exercises are pretty intense, but they are really good for increasing your metabolism and keeping your heart rate up. Also, the videos are pretty short, which is a plus😉. My favorites are Chloe Ting’s videos and lately, I’ve been loving Pamela Reif’s workout videos.
I started doing yoga, mainly to strengthen my back muscles and to correct my posture. Yoga is also really good for de-stressing and relaxation. I usually do yoga at the end of these exercises to stretch my body. I’ve tried many videos, but I always come back to SarahBethYoga. Her videos are straight to the point and she has many different types of videos for different levels.
This is something that I started pretty recently, but I find it really effective. With pilates, you use low-impact exercises to strengthen your muscles (mainly your core) and increase flexibility. It may look like yoga, but it’s different, you may think that this is easy, but it really isn’t! But it really works with toning your body and strengthening your muscles. There are tons of pilates videos, but this is a great one for beginners.
Okay, I have to admit that I don’t run very often, but this is also a good exercise to do when the weather is nice. I suck at running, but if you have the right music, this can be really fun to do! I love to run with fun 80s music in the background, it makes me feel like I’m in one of those 80s jazzercise workout videos. It’s best to start slow and build it up as you go.
I try to do at least 30 minutes of one of these exercises every other day. I hope I inspired you to be more active and exercise. What are your favorite exercises?
